Co-creation session with students
THE PERFECT SCHOOL DAY
Students don’t expect or usually have a chance to shape their own curriculum, class rooms or experience at school.
In 2012, two vocational schools in the Netherlands were about to merge and move to a new shared building. Through several rounds of co-creation involving students from different classes, their teachers, as well as the two school directors, we articulated a vision of how The Perfect School Day might look in their newly built and combined school.
As a result, co-designing became a core principle of the new curriculum and a list of recommendations was given to the project architects to help them create a school with more flexible environments and new spaces for experimentation.
